The story heavily focuses on status of street gangs and their ideology including power, territory and organised crime specifically drug dealing in this case. This book was written in where gang crimes were notorious and a huge problem for the British Police force and government. Our main character, James Adams is now 16 and now that James is becoming older, the tones of the book have become slightly more gritty and the criminals have become more violent which fits in well with the theme of this book. The book does dive into human nature on survival as there are times where the best option is sometimes to fight back. I found it the most thrilling part and the action kept me on edge as it developed the most tension to the story.

The pacing felt like it dragged from specific sections in the story which diminished part of my experience. Although, this may be due to the case that our beloved main agents are maturing and that the author wants to investigate new attributes behind different characters.

I especially like the sections concentrated upon Bruce and the antagonists such as Wheels and Junior. Through growing to love these characters and the progression of missions, this book ends the story of one of the older generations, Kyle who was the person who first recruited James to CHERUB.

In spite of this, I felt the plot did slow down at points as it lingered to evolve to the main point reducing my enjoyment, but it did try to redeem itself with fast pace action. My Rating: 3 Overall the whole mysterious story was well written for a mixed variety of genres. I would definitely recommended the whole series. This is a book you can lost in and let hours pass and is the series that started me to read again.
